On 28 January 2010 "Rossiya airlines" open joint-stock company was established in St.Petersburg. The reorganization was held in accordance with Presidential Decree dated 10.07.2008ã. ¹ 1052, the Forecast Plan of Federal Property Privatization for 2010, Order of the Federal Agency for State Property Management dated 26.05.2010 No 132, Decree of the Territorial Administration of Federal Agency for State Property Management in the city of St. Petersburg.
The joint-stock company became the legal successor of "STC Rossiya" FSUE and assumed all its rights and liabilities.
Federal State Unitary Enterprise State Transport Company Rossiya, that was established by affiliating Pulkovo Airlines to STC Rossiya (Moscow) in 2006, began operating flights under a common flag in 29 October 2006. This date become an important milestone, and the reference point for the company’s current history. The air companies’ affiliation took place in accordance with the RF President’s Decree No. 1119 of August 24, 2004 and RF Government Resolution No. 881 of December 29, 2004. The company’s chronicle is inseparable from the history of Pulkovo Airlines and STC Rossiya, which joined their rich traditions and made their respective ample contributions to create the unique history of Rossiya Airlines.
The main purpose of the restructuring is to create a powerful, advanced and competitive state-owned air carrier, as a part of the governmental strategy to improve the air transport enterprises’ structure to optimize the number of airlines and to consolidate them.
Maintaining and developing the best traditions of Russian aviation, Rossiya Airlines continues the creation of the air industry’s current history.
